How do you eat 1.5 eggs in the morning? 🙂

I hate hate hate hate HATE flutter kicks!! I know they’re soooo effective and I can feel them instantly, but honestly… just… ouch!!!

    1. Lisa Eirene

YES! I can feel the flutter kicks immediately! It hurts so good.

Michael scrambles 3 eggs and then we split them. 🙂

I downloaded the Nike Training app on my phone but i haven’t had the chance to use it yet. But that second workout looks promising!

I did have an offtopic question though, something I can’t seem to find out from Polar’s website.

Does your Polar watch keep track of your calories burned according to your heart rate? Or is it based on the info you put in when you set up the watch? I’ve been wanting to get one, but I wanted to try and find one that was the most accurate in figuring out calories burned, if that makes sense. I don’t want to wear one of those transmitter straps if I can help it.

Sweet! Let me know how you like the Nike app.

The way I understand the HRM is that it calculates your calories based on the numbers you enter in compared to your heart rate. For example, when I was 20 pounds heavier and used it it said I burned a lot more calories compared to now. Also, when Michael and I would go hiking his numbers on his HRM was drastically different. I burned on average 40% less calories than he did because he weighs about 40 pounds more than me.

Ahh okay! That makes more sense than those other monitors that just give you a vague idea of what you’re *possibly* burning as opposed to what you’re actually burning. Thanks for clearing that up!

I downloaded the Nike app to my IPad but haven’t tried it yet. I will soon.

I also had no appetite when I was sick a couple of weeks ago, and it was such a weird feeling since I’m normally hungry ALL the time. Too bad it didn’t last (without the cold, of course).

Glad to hear you’re feeling better.

    1. Lisa Eirene

LOL no kidding…I’ll take the diminished appetite without the phlegm, thank you.

Let me know when you try the app. I’d love to hear what you think.

    Lisa,

Hope you feel better soon! 🙂

I tried to download the app, it gave me an error…. Maybe just my trying to download it using my aircard w/ barely any signal…LOL.

I too have a question on your HRM…. Do you have to wear the strap thing that goes around your lower chest area?

    1. Lisa Eirene

Yes I wear a strap around my chest under my breasts. It tracks me heart rate and communicates to the watch. It’s not annoying though and I barely feel it.

Glad you are feeling better. I like that your mom gets you a little V present. I get my kids chocolate and my daughter a little gift, because she is the only one that cares. I think I will keep it up (she is 9) like your mom did.

    1. Lisa Eirene

Yeah it’s cute that my mom sends us Valentine’s gifts. She’s pretty thoughtful.

I’ve tried a few of the NTC things and so far I’ve loved what I’ve done. The last one I did was the 45 minute shape and sculpt and I really kicked my booty. The other one I tried was the circuit challenge and I liked it too.

    1. Lisa Eirene

I’ll look for the shape and sculpt workout next time.

      1. Merinda

It’s in the easy level, I think. Basically it’s the same circuit 3 or 4 times, but I don’t mind that since I know what’s coming next.

  7. Nicki

Thanks! 🙂 I just bought one, perhaps Polar should send you a referral check.. 😉

    1. Lisa Eirene

I should! Hey Polar, hint hint!!!

Let me know what you think of the HRM Nicki!

I’ve tried the NTC app a couple of times and really like it so far, though it’s taking a little bit of coordination for me….I have to either wear my phone on an armband and then can’t see the exercises if I need a visual cue or I have to put it somewhere nearby and then can’t wear headphones.

Also, I don’t own a medicine ball or hand weights, so I either have to use the app in the gym (which makes me look hilarious!) or without the accessories. For now.

All that aside, the app is really impressive, especially for a free app! The videos and pictorials are excellent — very clear without being kitschy — and I LOVE the variety available in a single app. Since I do Pilates twice a week and training for a long ride in June, I’m trying to use the app to power my strength-training workouts — particularly focusing on upper body strengthening (doing even one push-up is pathetically difficult for me right now) and a little lower-body stabilization (with all the cycling I do, you’d think my hamstrings would be stronger!).

Do you have a medicine ball? If so, what size/how heavy is it? It seems like something that would be pretty useful for me to have at home.

    1. Lisa Eirene

That’s excellent. I’m glad you gave it a try. I prop up my phone where I can see it. I don’t really need to hear the lady prompting me, in fact I watch TV while I do the app.

I have a big stability ball (the kind you blow up) and I have an 8 pound medicine ball that I bought at Walmart (cheap). It works really well.
