My hubby made a raised bed for us. We plant about the 2nd week in May. Our weather has been pretty iffy also. I can’t wait to see the results.

I have no real advice – I’m still dipping my toes in to the world of apartment balcony gardening – but wanted to say I am jealous of your yard and planters! What a fun project to have for the summer.

Also, WTF is in that plant at the coffee shop? Seriously…I’m going to have nightmares… 🙂

I’m down in Corvallis and we usually plant mother’s day weekend. Once there are no threats of frost you are pretty good to go. You want to plant early enough that everything is yielding before the fall frost. We lost quite a few tomatoes last year because I planted a couple of plants late.

Mother’s Day weekend sounds like a good idea.

Whoa, lots of work into the garden! Looks good!
Writing a book about your journey sounds super challenging, I wouldn’t know where to start & how to keep a nice flow myself. I hope that you do publish it though, I WOULD get a copy!

if I wasn’t going to be on vacation for a few weeks this month (yay!!) I would be planting next weekend. I’ll be planting probably Memorial weekend, my first weekend back home, and that will still be plenty of time for things to grow.

what kind of veg are you planting?

there was a frost advisory for last night / this morning, so I feel good about waiting anyway!

I think the weather here in Oregon is just too iffy for another month. It might be detrimental to the plants if we plant too soon. But I also don’t want to plant too late either.
