Great job on your bike commuting! I haven’t bike commuted for a few weeks because since we got the puppy I’ve had to go home at lunch to let her out. Once Eric is back in school I won’t have to go home at lunch every day and hope to start bike commuting again!

I imagine when we get a puppy it will change our routine too. Michael works close to our house so he could come home during lunch to check on the puppy. But it would be hard if he was biking to work. That means biking 4 times in one day! He may be up for that, who knows? πŸ™‚

That’s quite the bandage on Michael’s leg! I hope he is okay!

I can relate to feeling dirty and that you cheated–but you still got the full 12 miles in so that’s awesome! Well done!!

I didn’t cheat myself miles but I cheated myself practice on hills! Oh well. Next time.

I take them in my workouts occasionally. πŸ™ Which is why I do not get the results I think I should.

Recently you wrote about how squats kill the thighs more than biking ever does. I want you to know that saved me from buying a bike to work out my thighs. Back to squats, Jane!

Ha! That’s funny. Glad I saved you a bike purchase, even though I don’t regret my bike! πŸ™‚

He seems to be ok. It was a gusher though!

Ouch! I hope Michael’s leg heals quickly!!!

I sometimes “cheat” if I am in a “mood”. I usually regret it later and feel disappointed in myself. A lot of times when I began thinking about “cheating” on myself or being lazy during a workout, I hear Jillian Michaels voice in my head. She is saying 1 of 2 things to me…. your mind quits before your body or if you are not puking, fainting, or dieing… keep moving! (she said these things on The Biggest Loser) It really helps me push through the times when I want to be lazy or slack!

How often are you going to commute by bike! I think it is awesome!!!

    1. Lisa Eirene

He seems to be healing. πŸ™‚

Sometimes you do need some angry voice (ie Jillian, or whomever) telling you to suck it up. πŸ™‚

So far I just commute to work once a week but I’d like to change that. Hopefully 2-3x a week. Especially now that I am gym free…

Sorry to hear about Michael’s gash! I’ve never noticed my bike chain to be too sharp. I have cut myself on the pedal before, though. Must just be the angle you hit things at.

I occasionally take short cuts, but try not to. I’m very mileage oriented when it comes to work outs. I try to cut myself some slack, though. And for you… 5 minutes is negligible for an hour long ride!

    1. Lisa Eirene

I may be wrong…maybe it wasn’t the bike chain. Maybe it was the thing the chain is attached to? Not sure?

And YES 5 minutes isn’t a big deal in a 60 minute ride.
