    Ditto cheese!

I also have to say fruit, especially super-low-calorie fruits like watermelon and berries. They give me a lot of volume and sweet taste without being high in calories.

      Volume makes a huge difference!

You know I’m big on oatmeal, beans, soup, and salads! I think anything that will give you lots of volume without an overload of calories is best. I love volume eating.

Cheese, 2% Fage yogurt, lots and lots of berries!! Also peanut and coconut flour.

I still haven’t tried peanut or coconut flour.

    I love this post!

I recently started eating high protein again and am really happy with cottage cheese mixed with Greek Yogurt. I remember “having” to eat cottage cheese on a diet and thinking “Ew Gross!” Now I love it and love how I feel after eating it. (I definitely prefer it sweet over savory but maybe that will change too)

High protein really makes a difference. I noticed it too!

Definite ditto on the cottage cheese-I have a half cup with fruit for lunch every day. Green apples-with cheese or almond butter, on their own or in a salad I just can’t get enough! Bagel thins-I’m kind of a bagel junkie, and with the thins I can satisfy my cravings without going calorie crazy. And finally almonds (I’m kinda surprised no one has mentioned them thus far)!

P.S. I’m a new reader, and I just wanted to comment and say how much I enjoy your blog. I too am in my mid 20’s and have come to the realization that I gotta lose this weight now, before it only gets more and more difficult. Is there are a post where you talk more about your watch and where you got it, and for me, most important do they have it in pink?!? 🙂

    Hey Lisa,

You’ve got a great list of diet food here. I’m also a big fan of eggs. I think eggs aren’t just nutritious, they’re quite versatile as well. I’m definitely going to try your grilled peppers with eggs recipe. I imagine it would go really well with a green salad and grilled rosemary chicken. Looking forward to more amazing recipes.
