I’m essentially on a 18 month road trip as we speak since I work for a touring Broadway show. Each week (or two) a new city, new hotel, new theater, new adventure! Hell I’m even typing this comment from a bus as we make our way to Detroit!

But since that’s kind of cheating I think my other favorite road trip was when I drove my New York City to Austin with my best friend for our ex-roommate’s wedding. My friend had a car and we decided it would be cheaper than flying, plus we could stop in Kentucky to see my Mom and then we could stop in his home town in Texas so I could meet his Mom. So much fun. Just me, my best friend and his Cairn terrier who was a hoot and a half in the back seat. Such good times.

Wow! An 18 month road trip! Part of me thinks I would LOVE that, but then of course it would be hard to be on the road all the time.

New York to Austin sounds like a really fun roadtrip! I would love to do something epic like that. The furthest I’ve gone was from Portland to San Francisco or Portland to Montana. Both were great trips.

Hi Lisa. I love road trips, and I love beer samples too! 🙂 One of our favorite road trips was down to your neck of the woods about 6 years ago. We went to Portland and Canon Beach. You live in a wonderful part of the world, and we hope to drive down again one of these years!!! Have a great Monday.

      Beer samples are the best!

I’m glad you enjoyed Oregon! I love the Oregon coast. It’s such a beautiful place to visit. Canon Beach is pretty and touristy, there are a lot of other cute little beach towns that are fun to visit if you ever come back. I love Rockaway!

DID you get to the resort gym?? 🙂 if it is the one I’m thinking (Sage Springs Club + Spa?) I “built” that! I was the director and was living there for the preopening and construction stages.

just wondered if you went there 🙂

I love Sunriver… I loved my time living there, but for me it is a better place to visit. maybe LATER in life, I would go back and settle there, but I missed the city! glad you had a great time!

I did not go to the gym this weekend. We spent the time in the snow! But a few years ago we stayed at Sunriver and I used the pool and hot tub in the Sage Springs Spa. It was gorgeous! GOOD WORK!!! 😀

I love Sunriver but I cannot imagine living there. I like Bend but I think it’s just a bit too small for me. There isn’t a whole lot to do after you’ve seen the shops and played in the snow. Maybe summer time is different.

Mr BBB and I spent 5 weeks driving around Europe – which was most certainly the BEST roadtrip we have ever been on!!! So many miles, so many amazing sights!

That would be a FANTASTIC road trip! My grandparents did that in the 80’s!

Only two roadtrips in my life here. One from our home in SoCal up almost to the Oregon border, in late December, with 3 young goats in the back of the truck. Just my bestie and I. We made it there, made our trade, and started home, only to break down and end up stranded in a cafe in Willows for 18 hours while we waited for someone with a truck to come get us and the goat.

The next one was less eventful- bf and I drove to Oregon to visit a friend for a few days, wandered through the redwoods and across the Golden Gate bridge (yes, we took a 7 hour detour to do these two things hehe) and back home. That one was a lot more fun than the other!

What a story! A road trip complete with GOATS?! That’s kind of awesome but I’m with you–I’d enjoy the second trip to the Redwoods much better. 🙂

Hope all that beer didn’t give you Deschutes! Aaaahahaha…no, but I have heard only great things about that brewery. Seething with jealousy over here. =)

It was SO good. Lots of good beers this weekend!

It was our first vacation in months and probably our last vacation for even longer…but it was a good one! SNOW! That always makes me happy. 🙂
