I’m so sorry to hear about Fritz. Can you imagine keeping a story like that to yourself for so many years? Especially after there was nothing to be afraid of. That’s a funny generation of men. My grandpa was older and didn’t serve in the military but he HATED the Japanese from Pearl Harbor til the day he died. I wasn’t allowed to tell him I owned a Nissan. He only drove American, of course.

We’ve wanted to rent one of those cabins at Camano for a while. I think you have to book really early. What a beautiful wedding! Can’t wait for your turn. πŸ™‚

I know! I don’t understand why he never told anyone. I imagine it’s just the culture of that generation.

Holy smokes, he only told the family now??? That’s amazing, I’m not sure if I’d have been able to hold that secret for so long. Looks like a GORGEOUS wedding. (I love weddings. πŸ™‚ ) Have a great Tuesday Lisa.

It’s such a shame he didn’t share it earlier. I bet there were lots of stories he could have told his kids about.

Red Lobster cheddar biscuits are a weakness of mine. LOL.

That’s why I only asked for ONE and not the whole basket. πŸ˜€

I’m sorry to hear about your Mom’s uncle. Losing family is never easy.

Looks like a beautiful wedding, and the wedding cake sounds delicious!

There is an older woman who lives in one of the small towns near us who told her family that she was a Holocaust survivor when she was 96. I’m sure there are so many incredible stories out there that are never shared or are shared very late in life.

Wow, I bet she has lots of stories too. I’m thinking it’s a generational thing. Older people grew up in a time where you didn’t share anything personal. This day and age there is NO keeping secrets!!!
