First of all – that last picture is priceless – love! I quit drinking the first three months of this year just to kind of detox if you will. I was drinking for all the wrong reasons, but I realize numbing myself with wine isn’t going to bring my husband back.

And I do believe life is too short not to have a glass of wine now and again, or indulge in chicken wings – I just pick and choose the times during the week that it makes sense.

I think you’ll do great once you go back to work, and I used to ride my bike to the train, then walk the mile to my office after I got off the train, then walked at lunch, and repeated that back home. That way I didn’t take away the time I did have with Hannah.

I think that’s great you found something that worked for you. Sometimes it’s just sneaking some fitness in here and there throughout the day that makes the difference. It doesn’t always have to be a mega-workout session.

When my youngest niece was a baby, I was at my lowest weight and trying to become a runner (it didn’t take: it never became something I didn’t hate, and I developed a bone spur in my heel that makes it hurt to walk now. Sigh), and sometimes instead of going to the gym I would go over to their house and put her in the stroller and jog around the block with her. I thought it was the best thing, even when she slept through it, because it meant we were both out in the sunshine and breathing fresh air.
Biking to work, and doing family hikes, are great options. You’ll figure it out, and Logan will learn from the start that exercising is part of daily life and not something only done at the gym.
That’s a beautiful pic of you and baby!

You make a great point I didn’t think about–teaching Logan that exercise doesn’t have to happen in a gym. It can be fun and outside.

Sorry to hear about your bone spur. That sounds really painful. 🙁
