My brother bikes to work, every day. In fact, he sold his truck so he has no options. His wife has a car, but needs it every day. So he bikes. No babies at that house. Kids are grown and gone, so that makes a big difference.

And we know a dad who rides bike a couple hours to work once a week. He is a doctor who works at very remote hospital one day a week and bikes. Rest of the week, he bikes to work in town. He does Iowa’s ragbrai every year and it is his way of building conditioning into his normal life. His wife is a stay at home mom who handles everything else, there for kid emergencies. So he has the flexibility.

I can well imagine that once a week takes major planning with a baby. So good for you in making this part of your life.

That’s great for your brother! It takes dedication to go to a one car family and commit to biking.

We’re trying to make it work. Once a week for now is probably all I can do!

Yay for biking!!! Headwind sucks. I don’t mind riding in cold weather, but boy I hate windy days and complain the whole ride. John calls it wind whining. 🙂
