Most of the recipes we’ve tried have been from Skinnytaste.com and I would recommend them all. We’ve made the split pea soup many times and it is fantastic (we make it without the ham). We’ve also made many chicken dishes and soups. Just search on her Instant Pot recipes.

For me I’m not sure about the time saver part – because it still takes awhile to come up to pressure and then to release it’s pressure. We tend to use it on Saturday and Sunday nights when we have a bit more time.

Good idea. I like her recipes a lot.
As for the time saver part, I think it will help us because you can put frozen proteins in it. A lot of times we forget to defrost something and then we’re scrambling. This will help a lot.

That’s the beauty of a pressure cooker! I love my IP because unlike my old pressure cooker, I don’t have to monitor the heat to make sure the pressure stays. Cooking from frozen is pretty amazing, too. Almost everything we have made has been great. It’s great for doing batches of hardboiled eggs, steel cut oats, soups.

FYI – if you try Alton Brown’s beanless chili recipe – it needs a lot more liquid. Found that out the hard way LOL.

I plan on doing hard boiled eggs for lunches next week!

One thing I love about the pressure cooker – chili and soup with dried beans on a weeknight!! So I assemble it all in the pressure cooker, set it on high for 40 minutes, we go to the gym and just let it natural pressure release until we come home.
