Katrina and I also had a getaway weekend, just us two. We stayed in Oceanside a couple steep blocks up the hill from the road entering the public beach parking. Rented a nice two bedroom flat AirBnB with an expansive beach view. No fancy tub, just a shower, but comfy living room, good sized kitchen, and plenty of puzzles. We finished three 500 piece puzzles over the two full days, sorting pieces between them because some had been mixed into the wrong box. We dined at the Blue Agate Cafe for breakfast and at Roseanna’s for dinner the first day and both had truly excellent food. On the second full day we drove up to Garibaldi and checked out several seafood and fish markets, back through Fred Meyer in Tillamook for groceries and wine, and had a crab feast at the flat. Sunday we ate some bacon, eggs and leftover pancake, packed and left. We hiked to a viewpoint on Cape Lookout, about 2.5 miles, and drove into the Willamette valley. We visited a winery and succumbed to a sales job on the tasty wine and a tee shirt by the winemaker. We stopped at The Caves in Corvallis for beer and dinner items, then returned home.

That sounds like a lovely weekend! Do you have the Airbnb info? I would love to stay in Oceanside next time. Although, no complaints about Netarts. It was very pretty and quiet.

Which winery did you go to?

Beautiful. Your beaches are soooo different looking than ours here in Florida. The sand at Oregon beaches are much grayer. What book are you reading? I am reading The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah – a fabulous book!

I am reading “This is where I leave you”. So good!

I’ve seen photos of Florida beaches. The white sand looks so pretty!
