Some great suggestions, once again, Lisa! I admire your ability to read books with difficult subject matter. “The Inevitable” sounds really powerful, but I’m not sure if I’m emotionally up to reading it. Maybe someday? I also have enjoyed every Sharon Bolton book I’ve read, so this one is going on my list, along with the Alger & the Tudor. Only 115 books on my For Later shelf, that’s doable, right? I am currently listening to a good one, “Whither” by Lauren DeStefano. It’s an interesting dystopian story, first in a series of 4. And I just finished “Departure” by A.G. Riddle, a bit of a sci-fi thriller. The ending was a bit abrupt, but it was still a good read. I think it would make a good movie, too. Happy Reading!

I was just looking at Departure on amazon! I guess I will have to check it out.
Inevitable is good but yeah, you have to be in a good place emotionally to read it!

Thank you for your book reviews. I also wanted to say thank you for your blog in general. Like many women, I struggle with my weight and last week had a terrible bout of PMS that had me fixating on my body and I almost purchased an overpriced ‘metabolism makeover’ product that I really know is a waste of money. In the middle of my despair a little voice creeped in and said – ‘hey – what are you doing? Remember how Lisa is starting a better relationship with food? Maybe that is a better idea self.’ And I didn’t spend all that money. I talked to a friend about possibly going to therapy for body image issues. So thank you.

This is probably one of my favorite comments. Thank you so much! That is awesome that you had that moment and my blog helped. It makes me happy. I know it’s a struggle for many people and the common message is that our bodies are not good and need to be “fixed” but my hope is that my new “brand” is a more positive message.
