So sorry to hear about your continuing pain, Lisa πŸ™ I hope they’re able to fix things with a minimum of fuss and grief, although the thought of surgery while taking care of a family is pretty daunting. To be pain-free on the other end will be a blessing! I had to laugh when you said you thought it would be the knee that got you – when body parts go rogue! Hang in there!

It sucks. Especially in the summer when I was excited to getting back to activities. In a way I guess it’s good to finally get some answers. I think the SI joint issues and pain I’ve had for years probably contributed to a tear. And pregnancy and birth just finished the job. I hope there are clear answers soon and a fix!

Hi Lisa. I’m a long time lurker. Found you years ago when I did H2C, leg 12. Your coverage was so helpful! First, I wanted to say that your family is beautiful. My husband had his hip replaced a few years ago. I don’t want to minimize anything, it is a surgery. That being said, his extreme pain relief was immediate and the recovery process was definitely doable. It seems like those who have had hip replacements all say the same thing: β€œI wish I had done it sooner!” Living with chronic pain is so very, very difficult. I wish you all the best!

Thank you so much for being a reader and commenting πŸ™‚ I am glad to hear your husband’s surgery went well. I am hearing from a lot of people the “wish I’d done it sooner”. Chronic pain and injury is so hard.

Hi hi. Ugh, it sucks. I also had terrible hip pain that just got worse and worse after giving birth to my second. Such a long and frustrating experience to eventually figure out I had zero cartilage left in the socket. We ended up doing a full replacement last May. I was tent camping 6weeks later. I still have minor pain and am working on building more strength, but the difference is incredible. The surgery idea is overwhelming and scary but I wish I’d done it sooner. Happy to pm, I’m Pdx also.
