    Aww thats so cute that he made you breakfast – I love it! I don’t know WHAT those are to be honest! Every sweet potato I’ve ever met has been orange inside.

    yams and sweet potatoes are the same thing, just different colors. you can’t get true yams in the US (real ones are giant, and our yams got their names because slaves in the south called the orange sweet potatoes “yams” because they looked similar to the yams grown in africa)
    the white tend to be starchier, and the orange ones softer, so the white would have a different texture than you’re used to…

    Kalin’s right (I Googled it). Pretty much everything in the US is a variety of sweet potato. I try to buy the rounder redder ones to avoid what you got above.

    You might like turnip fries. They’re actually pretty yummy.
