I don&#8217;t make New Year&#8217;s Resolutions anymore. I&#8217;m more comfortable with monthly goals. Something short term I can work towards and ACHIEVE. So how did I do in December? December was okay&#8230;I ate a lot more than I wanted to but that&#8217;s the holidays for ya.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>December Goal Recap<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">1. Maintain current weight. Don\u2019t gain weight. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>FAIL. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">2. Try one new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/?page_id=10346\">recipe<\/a> each week that challenges me. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>YES. Sugar Cookies, Minestrone Soup, Cheddar Garlic Bread and Penne with Squash and Goat cheese.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">3. Continue the hip strengthening exercise and strength training.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>YES!<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">4. Try to live in the moment and be happy with what I have, not worrying about what I DON\u2019T have.\u00a0<strong><em> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">SORT OF.<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">5. Begin training for my first Century Ride!<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Nope. I did not get on the bike at all in December.<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t fall too short of my goals for December but I also didn&#8217;t really give it much effort either. I fell victim to the typical excuse: The Holidays. I was busy, my schedule was crazy, there were injuries and sickness in my house, traveling and parties. I managed to get in all my workouts and I tried to make healthy food choices. That&#8217;s about all I could hope for. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/newyearresolution.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-10759\" title=\"newyearresolution\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/newyearresolution-300x210.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"210\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/newyearresolution-300x210.png 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/newyearresolution.png 420w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Now it&#8217;s a new year, a new month and time for new goals.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>January Goals<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>1. Do yoga once a week. Either a class at the gym or at home.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>2. Go Snowshoeing at least once.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>3. Try one new restaurant each month. This month: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ioriorestaurant.com\/\">Iorio<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>4. Start training on the bike!<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I felt pretty confident about my training for the Portland Century&#8230;I told myself &#8220;I&#8217;ve got 8 months to train!&#8221; But then I started to think about how many miles a week I need to build up to by August and I began to panic. Do I have enough time to train for 100 miles??
