Wednesday since I had the day off I made my way to the gym and was pleasantly surprised to find it pretty barren. I wasn&#8217;t sure how my body would hold up to trying to run because of the flare-up of leg\/knee pain last week. In fact, I wasn&#8217;t sure if I&#8217;d be physically able to snowshoe over the weekend because I was in so much pain. Luckily my weekend trip wasn&#8217;t ruined and Michael and I had two good days of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/?p=11954\">snowshoeing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday morning I had a great swim and yesterday I tested my body out on the treadmill. I had a few aches and pains in my ankle but for the most part I was able to run 3 miles without any other discomfort. That was a good sign for me.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/TREADMILL1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12108\" title=\"TREADMILL\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/TREADMILL1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/TREADMILL1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/TREADMILL1.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>After my run I hit the weights. Since I&#8217;d taken a week off from them my upper body was not up to par. The weight machines I normally use were a bit of struggle. I pushed myself though and got back into my routine.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/weights11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12109\" title=\"weights1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/weights11-e1295549678877-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/weights11-e1295549678877-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/weights11-e1295549678877.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>I KNOW I got a good workout yesterday because I am so sore today! I feel like I bench-pressed a car or something.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/weights3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12110\" title=\"weights\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/weights3-e1295549733327-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/weights3-e1295549733327-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/weights3-e1295549733327.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>Snowshoeing is a fantastic workout but since we didn&#8217;t use poles while we hiked we missed out on the upper body workout. If you want to see a killer snowshoeing workout, check out this girl&#8217;s website: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.feastsonscraps.com\/?p=611\">Trail Snail.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I completed my weight lifting (about 40 minutes worth) and noticed that I even struggled with the ab exercises. That&#8217;ll show me to take a week off! What would be your perfect schedule? I wish my work schedule was 10-4pm Monday-Friday. Of course that would be considered full time wages. \ud83d\ude42 Then I could sleep in, work out when the gym isn&#8217;t crowded and mosey on into work at 10am.<\/p>\n<p>My lunch was KILLER! I took the leftover pulled pork from my dinner at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/?p=11695\">Iorio<\/a> and made it into an amazing pulled pork sandwich.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lunch2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12118\" title=\"lunch2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lunch2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lunch2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lunch2.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>I reheated the pulled pork with some BBQ sauce. I toasted the last onion hamburger bun, put a little light Mayo on it, then topped it with the pork.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lunch4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12120\" title=\"lunch4\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lunch4-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lunch4-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lunch4.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The sandwich was outstanding! The flavor was great, it was so yummy I wanted to eat 10 more sandwiches. It&#8217;s not often that a leftover from a restaurant is good the next day but re-imagining it into a sandwich was a good move.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lunch3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12121\" title=\"lunch3\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lunch3-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lunch3-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/lunch3.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>This lunch has inspired me to make my OWN pulled pork! Last night we had 90 minute massages. It was so wonderful. I had not realized how sore I was until my therapist started working out the various lumps in my body.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/massage-table.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12123\" title=\"massage-table\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/massage-table-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/massage-table-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/massage-table.jpg 450w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>I had huge knots in my calves, my glutes and hips and tons in my back! Ouch! As he worked the knots out I jumped probably several inches off the massage table! Ooof&#8230;.Something cute: Fat Kitty decided to jump onto the massage table. He curled up next to me on the table purring. It was pretty cute. Then when I had my face in the massage donut thing, Fat Kitty would stand on his hind-legs and poke his head through the hole at me.<\/p>\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">HEAVY<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>My post yesterday about the TV show &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/?p=12051\">Heavy<\/a>&#8221; inspired a lot of comments and discussion. I think the show is good&#8211;it&#8217;s much better than the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/?p=929\">Biggest Loser <\/a>(which feels like a gameshow to me).<\/p>\n<p>It seemed like a lot of people felt like I did&#8211;like Jodi was just a whiner that didn&#8217;t want to do the work to lose weight. It will be interesting to see if they follow-up with her later in the show.<\/p>\n<p>Another thing I liked about the show was how the people go home after 30 days to continue their weight loss journey. One of my biggest complaints about Biggest Loser is that it&#8217;s unrealistic for 99% of the population. If you&#8217;re like me you have a full time job, friends, hobbies, loved ones, pets and I can&#8217;t leave my job and all of those things for months to live on the Biggest Loser compound to workout 6 hours a day with a trainer! Nope, I have to FIND TIME in my schedule to work out. I have to figure out how to eat healthy on my own.<\/p>\n<p>A comment Jodi made that I wanted to respond to was her opinion that she didn&#8217;t want a skinny, Barbie Doll personal trainer who had never been fat. I totally felt that way too! When I was 250 pounds I didn\u2019t want some skinny Barbie Doll telling me  how to lose weight and have willpower! I probably would have punched her  out if she had! It&#8217;s insulting.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, I would much rather have a chubby personal trainer who is also struggling because then they know how hard it is. Losing weight IS a struggle&#8211;and keeping it off is even harder work!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>QUESTION: What is a recipe that you &#8220;re-imagined&#8221; and made better?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It had been 7 days since I ran or did weights at the gym.
