There are less days to get things done in February but I&#8217;m determined to be successful in my goals.<\/p>\n<p>How did I do in January?<\/p>\n<p><strong>January Goals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Do yoga once a week. Either a class at the gym or at home. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>NOPE!<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Go Snowshoeing at least once. <em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">YES!<\/span><\/em><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Try one new restaurant each month. This month: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ioriorestaurant.com\/\">Iorio<\/a>. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Yes!<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Start training on the bike! <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>YES!<\/em><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I did pretty well in January. I&#8217;m proud of myself for completing most of my goals. I <a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/?p=11954\">snowshoed <\/a>twice in January (and once in December). I went to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/?p=11695\">Iorio<\/a> for my birthday dinner. And I&#8217;ve been consistently training on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/?p=11259\">bike <\/a>once a week. I wish I had been more diligent with the yoga because as an injury-prone person I definitely need it. However with the start of the new year the gym classes were too crowded for me to try and go to yoga. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/february.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12679\" title=\"february\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/february-270x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"270\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/february-270x300.jpg 270w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/01\/february.jpg 380w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 270px) 100vw, 270px\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/span><br \/>\nGoing into the new month with a new set of goals I feel energized.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">February Goals<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>1.<\/strong> <\/span><\/span><strong>Try one new restaurant each month. This month: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.patanegra-restaurant.com\/\">Pata-Negra<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Continue training for the Portland Century.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Try running outside (after 5 months of treadmill running).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Take a Body Pump class at the gym.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Pay attention to portion sizes!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking of portion sizes&#8230;Michael and I had a debate last night about dinner and portion sizes. He picked up a New York Strip Steak for dinner.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/steak.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12698\" title=\"steak\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/steak-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/steak-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/steak.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nI marinaded the steak in Soy Sauce, Balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire Sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and freshly minced garlic.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/marinading.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12699\" title=\"marinading\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/marinading-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/marinading-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/marinading.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe steaks look huge and yes they are more than 1 serving but they were really thin. Michael&#8217;s argument is that since the steaks are so thin they aren&#8217;t two servings. I contend that they ARE two servings. Conflicting reports say 3 ounces of steak is a serving. We ate way more than a serving. \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/dinner.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12700\" title=\"dinner\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/dinner-e1296578953219-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/dinner-e1296578953219-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/dinner-e1296578953219.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nCan steak be frozen (uncooked) and defrosted at a later date? I want to make sure that we don&#8217;t eat 3 servings in the future but all the steak cuts at the grocery store are pretty big. I also steamed broccoli.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/yummydinner2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-12702\" title=\"yummydinner2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/yummydinner2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/yummydinner2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/yummydinner2.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Michael and I discussed our Menu Planning. As you can see I already deviated from &#8220;The Plan.&#8221; Michael wants most of our meals to be planned this way:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">PROTEIN<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">VEGETABLE<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">CARB<\/span><\/p>\n<p>And once a week we just buy the protein to have on hand. I think it&#8217;s a good plan. I want to try new recipes and shake things up but it will follow that general template.<\/p>\n<p>We spent the rest of the evening finishing Season 2 of Damages (such a good show). A coworker gave me sample of his girlfriend&#8217;s cookies that she sells in her store. One said a serving of steak is 3 ounces. Another website claimed 12 ounces. Another says <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mayoclinic.com\/health\/healthy-recipes\/NU00522\">4 ounces<\/a>. So confused! Serving sizes have always been my downfall regarding my weight. I need to get on this!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>QUESTION: What are your goals for February and how did you do with your January Goals?
