There were some ups and downs&#8211;some stress, some illnesses, but finishing March with an awesome vacation cleared all negative thoughts.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>MARCH GOALS<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><strong>1. Try one new restaurant each month. This month: Pata-Negra\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/p116Lc-402\"><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">YES!<\/span><\/em><\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Attempt running outside on the track at least once.<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em> YES!!!!<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Really hunker down on portion sizes. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>I did my best.<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Learn how to use the new Kitchenaid Mixer. <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>NO<\/em><\/span>.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m pretty happy with accomplishing #2. In fact, I did even better: instead of taking my slow jog out to the track to test the waters&#8230;I went FULL THROTTLE and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/?p=14943\">ran twice<\/a> while I was on vacation in Arizona. And it was a REAL run too. I ran 3.4 miles the first day at my old, pre-injury pace (about 10 minute miles) and the second run was a little over 3 miles at the same pace. With no injury. That fact alone means March was a total <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><strong>win<\/strong><\/span>. <strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I managed to go on vacation and still count my calories, try to be reasonable with portions, yet still enjoy myself. The only way to know for sure is this week&#8217;s Weigh-In. Of course, I have the Prednisone Debacle to factor in, as well. <strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>April Goals<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>1. <\/strong><strong>Try one new restaurant each month. This month: <a href=\"http:\/\/tastynsons.com\/\">Tasty and Son&#8217;s<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>2. <\/strong><strong>Learn how to use the new Kitchenaid Mixer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>3. Lose 2 pounds.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>4. Call my old personal trainer and try his Crossfit Gym at least once.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been in an 80&#8217;s kick lately. My workout music has been solely 80&#8217;s hits like Tears for Fears, Howard Jones, Echo and the Bunnymen and Journey. I haven&#8217;t had a chance to buy some other snacks that my readers suggested for pre-workout fuel. I will tonight.<\/p>\n<p>I hit the treadmill and ran my 3 miles or so. It was a good run, faster than usual, but towards the end of it I was mentally and physically just over it. I was ready for the run to be completed. I could tell I&#8217;d gotten a good run in because I was dripping (literally) in sweat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/run1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-15640\" title=\"run1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/run1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/run1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/03\/run1.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nI lifted weights. The <em><strong>verdict<\/strong><\/em>: I did not crash, I didn&#8217;t have the shakes and it curbed my hunger (a little bit but not sufficiently). Michael forgot to add the asparagus tips, which is okay. I won&#8217;t give any spoilers in case people haven&#8217;t seen it yet. But I will say that it was a GREAT episode and I was torn on who I wanted to win. The whole season I loved Richard Blais but the last few episodes I really started to like Mike too. It is such a good show.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>QUESTION: Did you watch the Top Chef Finale? Thoughts?
