My hamstrings are sore from lots of gardening on Saturday&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/?p=17881\">veggie garden has started<\/a>! That&#8217;s one thing we both commented on when trying this diet experiment. The amount of food we have to buy and prepare is staggering but we both wanted to start eating more &#8220;real&#8221; foods instead of relying so heavily on processed meals (i.e pastas, frozen ravioli, mac n&#8217; cheese from a box, etc). I may not be doing the diet anymore, but I AM eating a lot of the same foods Michael is eating.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s an example of how I eat now (incorporating the Slow Carb Diet with Michael as well as eating what <strong>I<\/strong> want):<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>BREAKFAST:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>1 Sandwich Thin toasted with cream cheese (didn&#8217;t have bagel thins)<\/p>\n<p>1 cup plain Greek Yogurt with sliced strawberries<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7390.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-17936\" title=\"IMG_7390\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7390-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7390-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7390-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nI discovered last week that eating a huge breakfast of eggs, sausage and beans and then going to the pool to swim was AWFUL. No more! This is the right amount (and right type) of food pre-swim.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7392.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-17937\" title=\"IMG_7392\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7392-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7392-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7392-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe only thing really &#8220;on the diet&#8221; in this breakfast is probably the plain Greek Yogurt. But I don&#8217;t care! I&#8217;m not on the diet! And the strawberries were <em>perfect<\/em>. Sweet and plump and a little crunchy but not unripe. Oh how I&#8217;ve missed you strawberries!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Calories: 309 \u00a0\u00a0 |\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Carbs: 40g \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 |\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Protein: 24g\u00a0\u00a0 |\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fiber 8g<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>LUNCH:<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>1\/2 blackened chicken breast<\/p>\n<p>1 serving cottage cheese<\/p>\n<p>1 serving beans<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7394.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-17948\" title=\"IMG_7394\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7394-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7394-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7394-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThis is totally on the plan. And I&#8217;m a-okay with eating something like this for lunch. The cottage cheese is low in calories (90) and high in protein (12). I added some croutons to my salad, but not Michael&#8217;s. The salad had cucumber and homemade Caesar dressing. I also heated up the Trader Joe&#8217;s chickpeas! They are soooo good!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7400.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-17970\" title=\"IMG_7400\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7400-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7400-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/IMG_7400-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe chickpeas were yummy and SPICY! Michael skipped those, his loss! It was a good, filling dinner with an interesting array of flavors. One of the things I love about Trader Joe&#8217;s is that a lot of their products have very few ingredients. The chickpeas came from a package&#8211;yes&#8211; but there were only 5 ingredients in there and they were all natural spices.\u00a0 I could totally make this at home, so maybe in the future I will give it a try&#8211;going with our theme of eating natural, homemade foods.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Calories:\u00a0 753\u00a0 \u00a0 |\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Carbs: 49g \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 |\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Protein: 47g\u00a0\u00a0 |\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fiber 16g<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>TOTALS FOR THE DAY:<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Calories:\u00a0\u00a0 1,647 \u00a0 \u00a0 |\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Carbs:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 139g \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 |\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Protein: 116g\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 |\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fiber 28g<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Calories Burned Swimming: 400<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>MONDAY WEIGH-IN<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Michael weighed in Monday morning for his second week on the Four Hour Body Diet. <strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Starting Weight: 197.8<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">After 1 Week: 192.4\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 |\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Loss of 5.4 pounds<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">After 2 Weeks:\u00a0 190.7\u00a0 | \u00a0 Total\u00a0 Loss of 7.1 pounds<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I am so proud of Michael&#8217;s efforts! He&#8217;s done a great job and I can attest to the fact that he has not cheated in anyway. He did say he didn&#8217;t do the breakfasts last week like the plan instructed though and he attributes the small loss in Week 2 to that, so Week 3 he&#8217;s going back to the way he ate in Week 1. I&#8217;ll support him either way. I reminded him that a loss is a loss, even if it&#8217;s a small one!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>QUESTION: How do you prepare your chickpeas?
