Friday morning I slept until the glorious hour of 8:15 am and as I languished in bed, enjoying my day off and considering sleeping more, I realized I had too much to do. I got out of bed, dressed and drove to the grocery store to get some last minute ingredients I needed for some potluck recipes I was making. I also got an iced coffee. \u00a0It was\u00a0desperately\u00a0needed (and the sun was finally out so iced sounded good).<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to swim and I also wanted to bike, so I packed up my &#8220;crucial&#8221; items I need for swimming in a backpack and dressed for the bike. I headed out in bike shorts and a short sleeved shirt, enjoying the sunshine and cool breeze. I biked very quickly on the highway and got to the I-205 Bike Path.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_7133.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-20762\" title=\"IMG_7133\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_7133-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_7133-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_7133-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/IMG_7133.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nThe bike ride is short but uphill, so it is a workout. My legs were feeling good after the bike ride. It was oddly hot. Like the water was the temperature of the hot tub, not a lap pool. It was strange and unsettling. I swam my routine but I unfortunately did not get to swim my best or fastest because the water was so hot! I imagined I was swimming in Jamaica but honestly, it just made me uncomfortable and hot. When you workout you sweat to regulate your temperature. In the pool you technically are still sweaty and hot but you are wet so you don&#8217;t notice it. And when the water is cool and a normal temperature you don&#8217;t ever feel overheated from a hard workout. In super warm water? Yeah not so much. It was so uncomfortable.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/swim.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-20763\" title=\"swim\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/swim-e1311370770893-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/swim-e1311370770893-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/swim-e1311370770893.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nAs a result of the lackluster swim because of the hot water, my calories weren&#8217;t that great for the session. But something is better than nothing in my book. It was rather unpleasant being sort of&#8230;moist&#8230;on the bike ride home. Luckily it was not very far. I spent the rest of the day doing laundry and then hours in the kitchen cooking and baking potluck food! I will share the yummy recipes next week.
