I got a lot of really great comments and private emails:<\/p>\n<p>Lori at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.findingradiance.com\">Finding Radiance<\/a> said:\u00a0 &#8220;I really struggle with body image.  Sometimes I see myself as size 8,  other times I think I look closer to the old me at 250 pounds.  It does  seem to be getting better with time, but not sure if that will ever go  away. You have to shift your focus to the positive.  If you dwell on the  negative, then it breeds upon itself.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And one of my favorites from Lisa at <a href=\"bakebikeblog.com\">Bike, Bake Blog<\/a>: &#8220;What a refreshing post\u2026\u2026it can be so easy to focus on the negative  sometimes \u2013 but I consciously try to turn it around and focus on the  positives instead. Such as \u2013 instead of \u201cargh I have put on weight\u201d \u2013 <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>I  remind myself that \u201cI have done 10 races in 6 months and have never been  fitter\u201d. A little extra weight is not the end of the world?!<\/strong><\/span>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I took Kelly&#8217;s advice from <a href=\"myhealthypassion.wordpress.com\">My Healthy Passion<\/a>: &#8220;I allow myself to wallow for a few days. I  almost think it is healthy to allow myself to be in a bad mood. Then  after some good wallowing (and usually a few tears\u2026crying ALWAYS makes  me feel better) I make myself focus on the positive things.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I wallowed a bit and feel MUCH better today. I think having a great run yesterday helped that. It reminded me that my body does great things.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hundredtenpounds.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/06\/body-worlds.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-thumbnail wp-image-2384\" title=\"Waveroller2.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/hundredtenpounds.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/06\/body-worlds.jpg?w=150\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/body-worlds.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/body-worlds-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/body-worlds-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a><strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">So why ARE we so hard on ourselves?<\/span><\/strong> Upbringing, media, poor parenting, blah blah blah&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>I plan on changing that.<\/strong> As I stated in my post about June Goals, I&#8217;m going to think positive thoughts.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hundredtenpounds.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/06\/love.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2385\" title=\"love\" src=\"http:\/\/hundredtenpounds.files.wordpress.com\/2010\/06\/love.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/love.jpg 432w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/love-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/love-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Some other things we can all do:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>1. Be realistic. My body type\/genetics is never going to be a size Zero.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>2. Appreciate what my body can do at it&#8217;s current weight and size.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>3. Don&#8217;t punish myself for overeating by overexercising.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>4. I only weigh myself once a month for a reason: it&#8217;s to NOT obsess about the number on the scale.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>5. Test yourself. Try something new. Be impressed with your abilities.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>QUESTION: Did I miss anything?
