When I was single, I ate a lot of &#8220;random&#8221; foods&#8211;kind of a &#8220;throw it all in a bowl and call that dinner&#8221; kind of meals. They are easy and quick and that was my style of cooking. If you could call it cooking.<\/p>\n<p>Even though Michael is a foodie and a really good cook, there are nights when we both just feel super lazy and don&#8217;t put much effort into our meals. Even on those not-much-effort-nights, I still try to make sure we get some healthy ingredients in the meal.<\/p>\n<p>One Sunday night I pulled out some Costco ravioli from the freezer to use for dinner. If you haven&#8217;t gotten the Costco pasta packages, I recommend trying a few simply because they freeze well and are easy choices for quickie dinners when you don&#8217;t want to cook. This time we had the butternut squash ravioli in the freezer. We also had some fresh kale. I decided to try this: sauteed kale, onions and two slices of bacon chopped up. Then I added it to the butternut squash ravioli. I shaved some fresh Parmesan cheese on top and drizzled a little bit of olive oil over it before mixing it all together.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5324.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-29765\" title=\"IMG_5324\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5324-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5324-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5324-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It sounds incredibly random and like it would be weird, but it worked. The dinner had that complimentary savory + sweet flavor. The kale and butternut squash went together really nicely! Dinner win!<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Bizarre<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n<p>This next dinner will be classified as &#8220;bizarre.&#8221; Not bad, just&#8230;.different. My mom gave Michael a jar of &#8220;bacon spread&#8221; for Christmas. It seemed weird to us but we decided to give it a try after it sat in the pantry for a few months just taking up space.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5327.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-29767\" title=\"IMG_5327\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5327-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5327-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5327-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It sounds kind of gross, right? It wasn&#8217;t gross, just different. First, all the ingredients were natural&#8211;no weird additives. One of the ingredients was brown sugar so it gave the bacon spread a BBQ scent and flavor to it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5335.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-29769\" title=\"IMG_5335\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5335-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5335-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5335-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Michael picked up a loaf of French bread and on one slice spread the Bacon stuff on it and on the other side, sweet mustard. Grilled Cheese + Bacon Spread Sandwich!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5336.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-29770\" title=\"IMG_5336\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5336-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5336-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5336-1024x682.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Asparagus was the side dish &#8211;cooked in a skillet in Grapeseed Oil, seasoned with pepper, shredded fresh Parmesan cheese and this stuff:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5331.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-29768\" title=\"IMG_5331\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5331-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5331-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/IMG_5331-682x1024.jpg 682w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Red Salt! It&#8217;s so good. I sprinkled just a little bit on the asparagus. I love this stuff. So how was the grilled cheese and bacon spread sandwich? It was okay. It tasted like a sweet grilled cheese sandwich. I didn&#8217;t taste bacon at all; it was more of a BBQ flavor. I think the bacon spread would\u00a0probably\u00a0be pretty good on a turkey burger.
