I didn&#8217;t feel like putting my body through another run this week after my pulled muscle on Wednesday. I decided it was okay to do a light workout instead of my usual balls-to-the-wall-burn-as-many-calories-as-you-can kind of workout.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/gym4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3914\" title=\"GYM4\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/gym4.jpg?w=300\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/gym4.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/gym4-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I decided to skip the treadmill and do the Elliptical machine.<\/p>\n<p>The Elliptical is a good choice for people who have joint pain, or can&#8217;t run.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3913\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/gym1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3913\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3913\" title=\"GYM1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/gym1.jpg?w=225\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/gym1.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/gym1-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3913\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Low-Impact Elliptical<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I did about 20 minutes on the elliptical machine, but nothing too crazy like I usually do. Actually, the elliptical machine is the machine I used to use the most when I was trying to lose 100 pounds. I did a combo of swimming and then the elliptical. It wasn&#8217;t until much later that I tried doing the treadmill.<\/p>\n<p>After the elliptical, I hopped on the exercise bike for about 5 minutes and decided to change things up a bit. I grabbed an <strong>Ab Ball<\/strong> and the <strong>jump rope<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/gym3-e1279311755542.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3915\" title=\"GYM3\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/gym3-e1279311755542.jpg?w=225\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/gym3-e1279311755542.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/gym3-e1279311755542-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>The rest of my workout was sort of like a &#8220;Cross-fit&#8221; workout. I did this a few times, back and forth, until I was dripping with sweat. Man! Jump rope workouts are sweaty!<\/p>\n<p>Then I added free weights to the routine.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/weights-e1279311969477.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-3918\" title=\"WEIGHTS\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/weights-e1279311969477.jpg?w=225\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/weights-e1279311969477.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/weights-e1279311969477-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>In hindsight I should have skipped the elliptical and exercise bike and JUST done the weights\/ab\/jump-rope combo. That was a much better workout in itself!<\/p>\n<p>Before you dismiss the jump rope as just a kid&#8217;s game, try it! It&#8217;s hard work and it&#8217;s a great workout. It felt good just to move.
