I didn’t know what Triphala was and had to google it. Apparently it’s used in Ayurvedic medicine. It’s supposed to help with weight loss, boost immune system, and relieve gastrointestinal issues. I also didn’t know what Chickweed was. “People take chickweed for constipation, stomach and bowel problems, blood disorders, asthma and other lung diseases, obesity, a vitamin C deficiency disease called scurvy, a skin condition called psoriasis, rabies, itching, and muscle and joint pain. (source)” I have to admit, I was intrigued by the psoriasis mention–I do have psoriasis and I was curious about whether the natural herb could help. It would be nice to go the homeopathic route someday instead of relying on medicine.

How was the tea?

I’m not a fan of green tea, unless it’s flavored. If it’s just straight green tea I can’t drink it–I’ve tried and just haven’t gotten used to it. The flavor in this was not overpowering and didn’t taste like green tea, which was a bonus for me. What I tasted most was the hibiscus, but it wasn’t a super strong flavor. It was nicely balanced.

I drank the tea mid-morning to stave off hunger. I liked that it helped with that and it made it easier to go a little bit longer in between breakfast and lunch. I had a big, steaming cup around 11am at work one day and it took me awhile to drink it, and that kept me from snacking on junk that’s around the office.

Now for the fun part!

GIVEAWAY

Buddha Teas has offered to give one of my readers a sample of their tea!
