If you\u2019re getting stuck and not losing weight anymore, take a moment and ask yourself some of these questions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/no-motivation-to-lose-weight1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4754\" title=\"no-motivation-to-lose-weight1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/no-motivation-to-lose-weight1-300x227.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"227\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/no-motivation-to-lose-weight1-300x227.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/no-motivation-to-lose-weight1.jpg 494w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Do I eat breakfast?<\/strong><\/span> We need fuel for the day and eating breakfast is a must.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Am I starving myself?<\/span><\/strong> Eating every few hours keeps your blood sugar level and can control hunger. Eat breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and then dinner. Or split your lunch into a pre-run snack and then post-run meal.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Am I drinking my calories?<\/span><\/strong> Alcohol, soda, juice, Vitamin Water, coffee, mochas\u2026they all have calories and they ALL add up FAST.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Do I keep track of my food?<\/strong><\/span> Writing down everything you eat keeps you accountable. That means logging in the 3 pieces of candy you snagged, the bite off your husband\u2019s plate, a handful of chips before dinner\u2026They all have calories.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/calories.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4756\" title=\"calories\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/calories-300x250.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/calories-300x250.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/calories.jpg 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Am I eating portion sizes?<\/strong><\/span> This was my downfall for a long time. Not measuring, eating two or three servings of food adds up fast.<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Am I reading a book while I work out?<\/span><\/strong> If you can read a book or magazine or talk on the phone while working out YOU\u2019RE DOING IT WRONG. I see this at the gym all the time and it amazes me! They don\u2019t even break a sweat and move at a snail\u2019s pace. That doesn\u2019t equal a workout, sorry.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Am I eating too many calories?<\/strong><\/span> If you aren\u2019t counting calories or points, you could be overeating and not even know it. Stay accountable to yourself.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/scalehelp.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4758\" title=\"scalehelp\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/scalehelp-300x198.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"198\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/scalehelp-300x198.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/scalehelp.jpg 426w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Do I eat fast food?<\/strong><\/span> There are very few fast food joints that offer healthy food.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Am I eating all the food groups?<\/strong><\/span> Our bodies need protein and carbs, fat and veggies. Try to get a serving of each.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Do I eat a lot of processed food?<\/strong><\/span> Processed food is usually high in calories and sodium (which can cause bloating and weight gain).<\/li>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Am I working out consistently?<\/span><\/strong> Going to the gym once a week isn\u2019t really a work out routine. You have to commit to making changes and do it on a regular basis.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Do I enjoy the activity I chose?<\/strong><\/span> If you hate running, don\u2019t run. It\u2019s not for everyone. I love swimming\u2014that worked for me and I lost my weight through swimming. It was something I loved and I knew I\u2019d stick with it!<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Have I seen my doctor?<\/strong><\/span> Getting a regular check up is important. Things like diabetes, thyroid issues and food allergies can halt weight loss.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Do I take any medication?<\/strong><\/span> I\u2019ve shared my story about gaining 15 pounds on Celexa. I did everything right\u2014worked out all the time, continued to eat healthy, but while I took the meds, I kept gaining and gaining! Stopping Celexa, I lost 10 pounds almost immediately. Birth control can also be a culprit for weight gain.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Am I eating TOO few calories?<\/strong><\/span> If your body goes into starvation mode, you\u2019ll stop losing weight.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Am I in a rut?<\/strong><\/span> Doing the same workout routine every day can cause weight loss plateaus. Hiring a personal trainer and beginning a weight lifting program helped me.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Am I drinking enough water? <\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I often times mistake hunger pains for thirst.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/blue-glasswater_1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-4760\" title=\"blue-glasswater_1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/blue-glasswater_1-235x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"235\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/blue-glasswater_1-235x300.jpg 235w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/08\/blue-glasswater_1.jpg 376w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 235px) 100vw, 235px\" \/><\/a><\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><strong>Am I making excuses?<\/strong><\/span> Instead of complaining, why don\u2019t we just DO IT. I don&#8217;t mean them to be judgmental in any way. I think when it comes to losing weight, one of the most important things that helps is a support system. My hope is that this blog can create a support system for people struggling. I&#8217;m not a nutritionist or a dietitian, so please see your doctor if you have concerns about why you can&#8217;t lose weight!
