We usually do something for the 4th&#8211;a hike, BBQ, something. This year was just low-key. They were banning fireworks everywhere in Oregon and Washington. It wasn&#8217;t really enforced but it made for a quieter holiday&#8211;which is fine with me. I don&#8217;t love the fireworks and our animals sure don&#8217;t! After the heat wave and the wildfires last year, I just didn&#8217;t want any fires. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saturday morning Michael went golfing with some friends. Logan and I played outside. I ran and he biked! It was fun. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sunday we went to the Sellwood Pool again and had a really fun time swimming! That was so disheartening to hear. \ud83d\ude41 I was really disappointed that we had to stop swim lessons because of covid and I was hoping we could start up again this fall. It doesn&#8217;t seem likely. I think we were all wiped from swimming outside. There were some fireworks nearby but they were short lived and it thankfully did not sound like a war zone like the last two years! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monday was a holiday. I went to the gym for a quick weight lifting session and then I took Logan to Summerlake Park in Tigard to meet our friends for a morning of fun! Nice weather, not too hot, kind of relaxed. It wasn&#8217;t the most exciting and active weekend but we did a fair amount of stuff. I am trying not to overbook our lives like we were pre-covid. I want to keep our slower lifestyle, the most I can, going forward. And funny enough, most weekends this summer are already booked with something. STILL! I am doing my best not to go back to the &#8220;old norm&#8221;.
