When you are a first time mom, everything is new and different. With Logan, I had labor symptoms for a month and then like a week before his due date, they all stopped. And I ended up having to be induced. While the induction went just fine and it was a good experience, I was a bit disappointed that I didn’t get to “experience” the whole spontaneous birth thing. This time around I kept hoping I would. Because of some medical issues, my age, gestational diabetes, etc, induction was offered again and I agreed. But I was still hoping she’d come on her own!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting at like 28 weeks this time, I was having an “irritable uterus” again, so lots of random contractions plus Braxton Hicks. Both were more than I had with Logan. Then starting at the beginning of February I apparently was having prodromal labor<\/a>. Mistakenly called “False labor” the contractions are REAL (and painful) but just irregular and don’t usually move labor along. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was still going to the doctor twice a week for monitoring (non-stress tests) and on 2\/16 I had my last OB appointment and she did a membrane sweep<\/a>. I had one with Logan and it didn’t do anything. This time, even though I wasn’t overdue yet, I agreed because I was hoping it might do something to start labor so I didn’t have to be induced!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday the 17th – <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Exhausted, felt like I had a really bad cold, that night baby was moving SO MUCH while I was trying to sleep (she usually sleeps at night) and some cramping, but no progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday the 18th – <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s been a really rough week because of Maya and stress and grief and just all the emotions. I got a bunch of stuff done around the house. I took Bella for two walks in the sunshine, tried to distract myself. Then Friday afternoon I had my last non-stress test. And I was an emotional wreck. It kind of came out of the blue but I was teary and emotional. The appointment was kind of crappy, but no real news. And then while I was at my appointment, the vet called to tell me Maya’s ashes were ready. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
