After three years it finally happened. I got covid. Honestly, I am super shocked it didn’t happen sooner since we had a kid in daycare and school. We were all pretty diligent about masks. Zoey started daycare March 1st and immediately got sick, then got me sick, then it just kind of recycled through the house. I was testing for covid about twice a week to be safe. We got covid tests at the doctor a few times in early March. <\/p>\n\n\n

I got a cold, then sinus infection, then what I thought was bronchitis. I kept testing at home, all negative. And since it was lingering, I decided to get a PCR test and surprise! Positive. The above home test, STILL NEGATIVE, was taken the morning of my positive PCR test. Which is really scary and frustrating because for several years now we’ve been relying on home tests to be safe. Who knows? Maybe we had covid before this?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’ve been trying to take it easy, which is not always possible with the kiddos. Thankfully Zoey is negative. We think Michael had it first and gave it to me. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I got a chest x-ray to check for pneumonia and thankfully that was negative. I am just living on Gatorade, Mucinex, prescription cough meds, my inhaler and Advil. Fun times!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things were going ok before I got covid. We had Logan’s birthday party, great success! My parents came to visit. I was able to get together with friends and my book club got together again after 3 years! (We read “Spare”.) I was also able to finally do something for me: a cut and color. I didn’t really do much with my hair while I was pregnant and nursing and it felt so nice to get it cleaned up!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I love it! It’s so much easier to take care of and feels healthier and looks nicer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Logan got to go to his first Blazer game! He had a great time!<\/p>\n\n\n

Getting covid is a bummer but I’m glad I’m vaccinated and boosted and hopefully this doesn’t linger too long. I’d like to get back to doing fun things! I was kind of getting back into an exercise groove and was able to do a lot more things without hip pain. I am disappointed I am losing all of that progress but I know from all of my reading that taking it easy and not returning to working out too soon after covid is key to avoiding long covid.
