I was feeling down about running and I thought it might be detrimental to my sanity if I stepped on the scale and saw a gain. The last thing I needed was weight gain on top of not being able to run!!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/scale2.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-6307\" title=\"scale2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/scale2-300x252.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"252\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/scale2-300x252.gif 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/scale2.gif 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>My curiosity got the best of me, however, and this morning I stepped on the scale anyway.<\/p>\n<p>And I was pleasantly surprised to see a <strong>1 pound loss<\/strong>! Weird! Not running seems to have had the opposite effect on my body. Which makes sense now that I think about it because my appetite has gone way down the last few weeks. Not running = normal appetite instead of a raging, psychotic hunger that makes me want to eat everything in sight! \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/measure.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6308\" title=\"measure\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/measure.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"222\" height=\"281\" \/><\/a>Check out my page for the Current Measurements <a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/?page_id=287\">here<\/a>. I haven&#8217;t any inches, but I am good with that. I seem to alter losing inches every other month. One month I&#8217;ll lose weight, the next month I won&#8217;t but I will lose inches, and so on.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Diagnosis<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>I left work early yesterday to go to the doctor about my knee.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/knee.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-6311\" title=\"knee\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/knee-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/knee-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/knee.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The good news: It&#8217;s not permanent. I was diagnosed with &#8220;Overuse&#8221; of my IT Band. She said:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">-No Running for at least 6 weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">-No hiking or activities that cause knee pain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">-Rest, Ice, massage, stretch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">-Elevate the knee and take anti-inflammatory meds.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">-Do physical therapy once a week for 6-8 weeks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">-Do acupuncture on my IT Band.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">-Eventually do yoga if it does not hurt my knee.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">-When I do start running again, run on a track or treadmill for cushioning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>She said my legs are really strong. She said I&#8217;d be able to run again. She couldn&#8217;t give me a time-line though and referred me to a physical therapist. I see the Physical Therapist this Thursday afternoon, and I have an appointment for Acupuncture on Sunday afternoon. I am determined to beat this!<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m glad the news wasn&#8217;t as awful as I&#8217;d been anticipating. I clearly just need some rest. And this time of rest from running is perfect for my new weight lifting goals. I am determined to see changes!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>QUESTION: Have you ever tried Acupuncture?
