I decided to do my Return to Run plan first instead of last. Last night was also the last workout for Week 1 of the plan.<\/p>\n<p>My gym is going through construction right now which means it&#8217;s a disaster zone everywhere. It also means they apparently aren&#8217;t fixing broken machines or the broken TVs. I decided that I would check out a video on my Netflix iPhone app.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/netflix.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-7570\" title=\"netflix\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/netflix-200x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/netflix-200x300.png 200w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/netflix.png 320w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>Even just watching the first 20 minutes of it, I got choked up with emotions. Then I went to focus on my core.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The Russian Twist<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve mentioned this move before and I want to describe it in more depth. It&#8217;s a really easy exercise and it <strong>will <\/strong>get your blood pumping. It&#8217;s also an exercise you can do at home. I bought a Medicine Ball at Walmart for less than $20. I used the one at the gym.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/medicine-ball.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-7575\" title=\"medicine ball\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/medicine-ball-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/medicine-ball-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/medicine-ball.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>How it works is that you sit in a sit-up position with knees bent a bit. It really works!<\/p>\n<p>Now, onto the dreaded Plank.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The Plank<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>First off, the Plank is HARD. You&#8217;re entire body will shake when doing it. The plank is excellent for your core and it&#8217;s simple. Get in the push up position but don&#8217;t do push ups.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/plank.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-7579\" title=\"13\/1\/09 carla pic david poole exercise number 1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/plank-300x206.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/plank-300x206.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/plank.jpg 650w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Just hold it as long as you can. Don&#8217;t sag in the middle, that will hurt your back, but don&#8217;t stick your butt high in the air either. Tilt your pelvis inward and hold in your belly. And my body was shaking the whole time.
