I hopped on the treadmill and started jogging. This time I built up toward a faster jog. I wanted to test my body and make sure it was okay (no pain).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/treadmill1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-8818\" title=\"treadmill1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/treadmill1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/treadmill1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/treadmill1.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><em>Here is what I did:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #003300;\">1.0 miles &#8211; Speed 3.9<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #003300;\">.25 miles more &#8211; Speed 4.0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #003300;\">.25 miles more &#8211; Speed 4.1<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #003300;\">Remaining .5 miles &#8211; Speed 4.2<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And there was no pain, no discomfort! I was feeling awesome in fact. I felt strong and steady, and I could tell I&#8217;ve made progress just from last week.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/treadmill2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-8819\" title=\"treadmill\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/treadmill2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/treadmill2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/treadmill2.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Remember how I tried to explain the new fancy gym&#8217;s weight machines? I had a hard time describing it properly. I believe I said it used the whole body in a fluid motion. Well I found a website with a visual of how the machines work. There are lots of descriptions of the weight machines but the most important part is the picture! I focused on:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Shoulders:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">(shoulder presses)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">-Deltoids<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">-Trapezius<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">-Rotator Cuff Muscles<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Abs and Back:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">(Ab machines, plank, Medicine Ball\/Russian Twist)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">-Upper Back<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">-Lower Back<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Arms:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">(bicep curls, triceps extentions, seated triceps dip, Lat Pull Down)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">-Triceps<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">-Biceps<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Chest:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">(cable cross, chest press, Pec-fly machines front and back)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">-Pec Minor<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #003366;\">-Pec Major<\/span><\/p>\n<p>I came across a leg machine for the inside of the thighs and the outside of the thighs:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/itbandmachines.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-8825\" title=\"itbandmachines\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/itbandmachines-e1289322924729-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/itbandmachines-e1289322924729-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/itbandmachines-e1289322924729.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>I&#8217;ve been working the inner thighs on the machine for awhile now. I use lighter weights and do it carefully in order to strengthen my hips and legs without re-injuring my IT Band. I&#8217;ve avoided using the machine that specifically works the outside of the thighs.<\/p>\n<p>Last night I did a set of 10 reps on the Hip Abduction. I&#8217;m not sure if I should be doing it.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>QUESTION: <\/strong><\/em><em><strong>Does anyone know? If you had an IT Band injury, did you avoid the Hip Abduction machine or did it help strengthen your hips and legs?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m really not sure. I would love advice!<\/p>\n<p>I spent some extra time working on my IT Band\/Hip strengthening physical therapy. Then I thought about it. To be honest, I REALLY couldn&#8217;t see those supposed 3 pounds.<\/p>\n<p>I had a good workout. I was starving after my workout. Delicious too.<\/p>\n<p>When I got home, Michael and I made dinner together. Morbid curiosity, a glutton for punishment&#8230;whatever you want to call it. I was 1 pound lighter than yesterday. Ridiculous contraption!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/scale1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8833\" title=\"scale1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.110pounds.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/scale1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a>And no, I did not stand on the scale tiptoed to make the number smaller. \ud83d\ude09 It&#8217;s weird that there&#8217;s a pound difference in just 24 hours. Maybe my theory of too much salt is true.
