After my nightmarish doctor appointment I took my sobbing self over to my good friend Star’s house for dinner. She was my neighbor for years and I already had dinner plans with her.<\/p>\n

I definitely needed a shoulder to cry on last night. She was a good listener and tried to cheer me up. And she fed me good food.<\/p>\n

Star is an excellent cook. I’ve posted recipes from her on my blog before–when I could. She tends to just “create” recipes from scratch so it’s often difficult for me to recreate them.<\/p>\n

Butternut Squash Soup<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Roasted butternut squash mashed with a potato masher<\/span><\/p>\n

Chicken Broth<\/span><\/p>\n

Curry Powder<\/span><\/p>\n

Ground Mustard<\/span><\/p>\n

1 cube of soy cream cheese<\/span><\/p>\n

Cinnamon<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It was delicious and creamy! I loved the soup. I have some leftovers too and cannot wait to eat it. The soup wasn’t spicy and it wasn’t overly sweet either.<\/p>\n

Regular Mayo<\/span><\/p>\n

I topped my salad greens with the tuna. It hit the spot and filled me up.<\/p>\n

I was trying to think positive and remember all the good things in my life. It’s hard with physical injuries because I tend to get tunnel vision and don’t see the positives. Good food helped.<\/p>\n

For dessert she had dark chocolate and made some chamomile tea.<\/p>\n

Cats are amazing creatures. They seem to know when their humans need some love and comfort. Star’s cat Ra is a humongous kitty.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Ra rivals Fat Kitty in affection-giving. He’s a cuddle bug just like my boy!<\/p>\n
