Thank you, I needed to hear this tonight! At my WW meeting today I lost 4.6 pounds and am down a total of 75 pounds! Right after my meeting I met some former collegues that I haven’t seen in months (and some in a couple of years) for drinks. I got many compliments, but kept saying that–Thanks, but I still have a way to go. I’ve worked really hard for this, why can’t I just be proud of my accomplishments???

Why is it that we do that? I do that too. Or at least, I used to. Now I make a conscious effort to say “thank you” and leave it at that!

Oh so true! And I once read how women tend to do this with ANY kind of compliment.

I’ve been consciously trying to break the habit of belittling the accomplishments I’ve made. It’s hard but I feel better now!

I love this!! I always say, well, thanks, but I have 50 lbs. more to lose. I should just shut up and say: Thank you!!

Yes!! Stop belittling what you’ve accomplished so far!
