We got our engagement photos back! Finally! It’s definitely felt like it took a very long time but we wanted the day to be just right and finally got lucky with some nice weather. Our lovely friends Stu and Christi spent the day with us taking the pictures and I am so happy with how they turned out.
We took our pictures at a few different iconic locations in Portland. The first was at Cathedral Park in St. John’s. The St. John’s Bridge is gorgeous!
A big thank you to my friend Kat who also helped me make the date sign. It took us a few hours one Saturday afternoon and I like how it turned out.
The next location was on the eastside Esplanade near downtown. I really wanted downtown and the bridges to be the backdrop. Love how they looked!
I had my hair done at Novare Salon in Sellwood. They were super nice and I was really happy with how she did my hair. I was slightly disappointed that it didn’t hold up the whole time but it was kind of windy out that day, so what can you do?
My good friend Star did my makeup. She did a great job and she’ll be doing the makeup for the wedding, as well as being the officiant. 🙂 Double duty!
And finally, here is the photo we picked for our save-the-date postcards:
We also took some pictures at night, but they didn’t turn out quite like I had hoped. The photos that we took at The Kennedy School though were great! We were in the Boiler Room Bar in a cozy little corner upstairs. The booths were romantic, the vibe was fun and of course, there was beer. 🙂
Hope you liked seeing the finished pictures! The next step is the send out the save-the-date postcards. Michael and I printed some test postcards and mailed a few to see how they stood up in the mail. They did okay so he printed the rest and in a few weeks me and the bridesmaids will make a fun evening of sending them out. Looking forward to it!
Those are FANTASTIC pictures! I love them. Your friends did a really nice job and I think you picked some excellent backgrounds.
