Some interesting looking selections, Lisa! I also gobbled up the Crais book – he is SO good, isn’t he? And I have read other Alafair Burke books, but hadn’t heard of this one. I found her through her dad’s work, having read/listened to a bunch of his Dave Robicheaux books. I’ll have to add that to the list. Evicted sounds like one I’d learn a lot from. I am fortunate that I have a decent place to live and we make a good living, but there were times as a young single mom where things were way too tight financially. Although I can relate on that level, I also had a great support network to fall back on, so my experience was different. It hurts my heart for those who work so hard and continue to struggle to take care of even their family’s basic needs. Important topic! I just finished reading Two Girls Down – it was one of my favorites of 2019, just a great read with interesting characters. I am currently reading The Invisible Library. I’m just starting it, so not sure where it’s going, but any book about secret agent librarians moving between alternate worlds has got a lot going for it! Happy Reading!

Same here. I’ve struggled before, single or married, but I was lucky that I always had family to lean on if it got REALLY bad. I was usually too proud to ask but if it was that or be homeless, I always had someone. And reading that book, you are humbled because most of those people don’t have anyone to lean on. 🙁

Thanks for the other recommendations! Adding them to my list. 🙂
