San Francisco - at about 220 pounds

This page is devoted to my current weight loss goals and progress. I’ve mentioned previously that after I lost 110 pounds, I gained about 15 pounds from a medication I was taking. I’m about half way through losing that 15 pounds.

Congrats on your “big girl” blog.

Glad to hear you enjoy swimming. That’s something I want to get more diligent doing, as I can tell, by the way I’m breathing, that I’m getting a tremendous workout! I’ve also been biking several days a week. Heading out in a few mins to meet a friend for a walk…makes the time pass quicker!

      Thanks!
I love swimming and find that I can bike or run a lot further and harder because of my swimming.

    Aloha Lisa,

Just came across your blog in passing, and was very impressed at your dedication and amazing success on your quest to get fit. You look amazing, fit and beautiful. I bet you look back at yourself in at 110 heavier and don’t even see the person you see today? It is a wonderful to read your story and see what you have accomplished in your fitness journey. It’s great that you shared this with others, as it does help when other people just starting their own quest to be a fit better self…just as you did! It takes a lot of heart <3

Thanks for checking out my blog, Debra! Yes, sometimes it’s hard to see the old me now. I look at pictures and wonder who that is.

      1. Debra

I have come across a few blogs on fitness that I do enjoy, but the to see people as yourself strive for what they want and work hard at it, and finally achieve it is truly inspiring.

I started out in fitness that stemmed from a eating disorder, anorexia & no one new what that really was about in the early late 80’s, but it lead me to me life as a bodybuilder, fitness competitor & fitness model.. It all comes from somewhere deep inside of us, that we want to accept yourselves and be comfortable in our own skin.

I hope you continue your fit journey for a life time and keep up your most beautiful self inside and out Lisa! I think you look just fabulous =)

        Thanks again for sharing!

Hi Debra–I spent years whining about my weight and telling myself I would just always be fat. It takes hard work. It really is a simple equation: diet and exercise. Once that clicked for me it was much easier to work towards that goal.

I’m sorry you struggled with an eating disorder. I’m glad that I didn’t fall into that trap, even though there were times when I almost did. It does come from the inside. I’m still working on that. 🙂

          Thanks for reading and commenting!

    Aloha Lisa,

It’s my pleasure Lisa =) You should be proud of yourself and now you know you can do it!
I think keeping it up is a big struggle for many, so we all need as much encouragement as we can get. I don’t normally put my 2cents in or comment, but I felt your story and continued story to be as fit and healthy as you can be deserved a comment or two…lol

    Train hard girl !

It is very easy to think that once the weight is lost we can go back to the old ways and not work hard anymore. I did slip into that mentality shortly and saw weight gain. Back on track! My hope with this blog is that I can inspire other people and show them that it CAN be lost and kept off. I appreciate your input as a new reader. 🙂

    Lisa…

I just did a post of “Writing your Weight Off” It’s about keeping a fit diary, journal about your workouts and diet. It really does help to keep us accountable for our actions. Even if your not sharing it on a blog and your fit journal is private, only for you to see. Something about seeing it on paper or on the computer is like looking in the mirror for us. We want to put good things down and we may not be able to if we cheat or miss a workout. Yes, it’s okay to have those days and sharing & seeing them will help us grow and get better, but it keeping a fit journal sure will make us think harder & twice, maybe three times about our daily choices.

So doing your blog is beneficial to you as much as others out there that are in the exact same place & want to know there are others out there like them. Write it down and you will see how much it helps you fitness goals long term.

I just gave my son his first workout log book, he loves it. I make sure he brings it with him and stays on top of what he’s doing in the gym.

I was going to join you blog, but don’t see a place you accept members? I will check again…
    Mahalo, Debbie =)

    1. Lisa Eirene

I will check out your post on the journaling. I agree 100% that writing it all down keeps the accountability there. I track my calories on my iPhone. I may not share it with anyone, or on the blog, but I’m always aware of what I’m eating!

Great job on your weight loss. That is very impressive.

    1. Lisa Eirene

      Thank you for reading, Jenn!
