What beautiful pictures. I can’t wait until my kids are a little older so we all can go hiking. I know this is the wrong post, but I had a question for you regarding your nutritionist appt. Did she tell you to eat the same amount of cals. on days you didn’t work out too? I always feel like I should lower my intake on my rest days? Thanks

Yes, the nutritionist told me to continue eating the same amount of calories (around 1900 or so) on rest days to replenish.

How many rest days do you usually take? Wow, I am full of questions. Sorry ๐Ÿ™‚

Gorgeous pics! I’ve never actually hiked before, sad I know. I’m going to have to plan a trip soon because that looks like so much fun. ๐Ÿ™‚

I take 1 or 2 days a week as my Rest Days. It depends on how I’m feeling and the level of exercise I do. I rarely take 2 days of rest in a row. I prefer to break them up during the week.

Thanks so much. I am trying to get over rest day guilt.

I definitely have Rest Day Guilt. It’s hard to overcome.

Nice post! I can’t wait to hear the getting shot at story! Crazy! One of my favorite hiking memories is when I went to Cedar Mesa Canyon in SE Utah. I felt very out in the middle of nowhere & it was gorgeous.

I would absolutely LOVE to go hiking in Utah. I drool over pictures and create fantasy vacations all the time. Utah, Colorado and Arizona are on my list of MUST SEES!

I love all those photos! We went to Multnomah Falls for the first time last month, it was gorgeous. It reminded me of Rivendell from Lord of the Rings. ๐Ÿ˜€

My favorite hiking memory is actually when we were hiking in the dark on the way back from Wing Lake last year. It was brutally cold, but the stars were out, the trail was nice and smooth (so I didn’t fall), and I must just have been really high on endorphins; it felt like I was in a trance. All in all it was just a really good day.

That sounds like a wonderful hike. I can’t say that I’ve hiked in the dark and seen the stars. Sounds magical.
