    Yum!! That recipe looks delish!

We’ve been in our house out in the sticks outside Seattle for 25 years now, and there’s no way we could afford to move anywhere, really. Our house will need a lot of work if/when we decide to sell, so maybe we’ll just leave the headache to our kids!

I totally get that! When you say the “Sticks” where abouts? I grew up north of Northgate.
That’s the thing about places like Seattle and Portland. You move out of it, you can’t move back to it….

We are in California and bought our house 20 + years ago. It was expensive then. It’s insane now. Our wages never kept pace with cost of living in this state so our tax returns were always what funded our yearly home improvement project. Sorry to say that we will be one of those you mention asking for top dollar cause like most Americans these days whose 401k’s took a hit in 08, our home equity will hopefully fund some of our retirement in a cheaper state. And no we are not going anywhere in the PNW.

I totally get that. The reason it took us 10 years to finish all the remodels in our house was $ and then we had a kid so time kind of got away from us. But I get it!

I agree about the cost of living thing. Portland hasn’t really caught up to the cost of living increase either. They are trying but it’s not working yet.

And I wouldn’t retire to Oregon, personally. It’s lovely and beautiful but the way the taxes are, it’s a terrible place to retire!

We’re in Carnation – the REAL sticks – only one Starbucks and one traffic light LOL

Oh yeah I know where that is. LOL

I know what you mean. We are getting our house ready to sell and moving. But here in Lake Mary , Florida which is an Orlando suburb it is a sellers market. We have updated the kitchen, master bathroom, reroofed, repiped and just had the outside painted. I believe our house is move in ready. You will be surprised where we are moving to VANCOUVER Washington!!

You are definitely in a seller’s market out there, unfortunately for you on the buying side, but hopefully good on the selling side. Our market is fairly medium most times and houses sell for listing price or a bit below depending on the neighborhood. Around the lake itself with million dollar homes is another story.

Even though we are in our forever home, I still like to look at homes on the market and the rehabber in me always has ideas on how to improve LOL! We enjoy the shows where people are moving to some kind of Caribbean lifestyle. Those houses can be soooo cheap!

It’s definitely a seller’s market here and it has been for a long time. Which is good for us, but also bad when we buy LOL
I love those shows too! I like to think that someday we’ll buy a house in the Caribbean 🙂

it always amazes me when even the listing photos show the laundry on the bed and the clutter on the counters (and usually no photos of the bathrooms at all!) but the listing price is at the top of the market

I’m trying this recipe tonight after the gym!

    1. Lisa Eirene

YES!!! I’ve seen some pretty bad photos. What in the hell?!?!?! It makes no sense. At least pick up your dirty laundry and put away your makeup!
Cool! Let me know what you think of the recipe. I loved it!

we love this recipe!!! Delicious and took 15 minutes to get it on the table after the gym.
I’ve shared it with several people and they’ve all loved it too.
