Welcome home Bella! We adopted our dog too – walking without him pulling the leash took some time – here’s a trick – only give the dog like six inches on the leash, so she’s right next to you – the longer the lead the more the dog will want to take full advantage.

Our dog wasn’t a barker, so not sure about that one! We had our dog for 15 years – until we get another one, I’ll just treat our squirrels as pets!

We got a face harness leash thing –not a muzzle–at the vet last night. It seems to be working!

What a beautiful girl! We love our dogs (and cats)!!

We use a gentle leader with our big dog and it has worked amazingly well for training him to not pull on a leash. It’s great and I highly recommend it!

We’re going to take a doggy obedience class soon too.

Bella looks like a mix I adopted years ago from the local pound. That dog lived for 17.5 years. Our dog was a female we named Chelsea. She loved to play catch with the Frisbee.

Bella isn’t that into the frisbee but she LOVES her ball. It’s her favorite toy and she can totally play fetch with it for hours.

I’m hoping that the kitties are establishing their dominance right now! Bella is home in her crate and the kitties can roam free again.

Lisa, I am so happy reading this post! Love the photos. πŸ™‚ Bella is going to feel like she’s been there forever in no time. We crate trained Sashi, and by the time she’d spent 2 weeks of nights in it (and any time we weren’t home to watch her) all we had to say was “go to your crate” or “bedtime” and she’d literally run to it and go in. When she got scared, she’d hide in her crate. It was her security blanket for a long time.

Bella likes her crate. She goes in there at night with no issue. She’s pretty good about that stuff.

Naw, Bella is so cute! She looks like such a sweetie, and like she would love to snuggle.

She is definitely a cuddle bug. I’ve been told that’s the pit in her.
