    Just have bulletproof coffee 😀

    I am like you with the low, low energy if I go low carb for too long. I find I can do it if I alternate days of low carb with moderate carb. Which I really should be getting back to now, but with this cold and snow all I want are all the warm carby foods LOL!

      I know, I know……a lot of people swear by that coffee but it just sounds so gross to me!!!!

    Just remember the high fat of the Keto puzzle! If you just cut carbs your body will be all out of whack and not sure what to do. Really work to increase fat, especially in the first few weeks adjustment time.
    There are Keto friendly marinaras oh there- try raos.
    You can have heavy cream in your coffee! I use nutpods also, but there’s no reason to not use cream with a little stevia for coffee.
    Don’t forget your above ground veggies! Lots of people do Keto meat/cheese only style, I think veggies are what get me through.

    Good luck with your Keto experiment! I know a few people who swear by it and do really well. I’m like you – I can do low-ish carb for a few weeks and then my body says STOP!! It just doesn’t do the job for me, especially with long run days.

      Same! I hear good things about it from a lot of people! But, those people aren’t runners. So we’ll see!

    I did keto for 10 months and have a lot of yummy recipes. I found Pinterest to be my best friend for sure. It’s amazing how much extra energy I had from being gluten and sugar free. I also added intermittent fasting into my keto lifestyle. I lost 60lbs! But I had to stop because of kidney stuff. The urologist had a fancy explanation, but essentially excess protein caused kidney stones. So I’m trying to follow my diet I was on when I had gestational diabetes to maintain my current weight (to be honest I’ve gained about 8lbs back) My husband also lost 40lbs-ish?     Thank you for your post! I read The Obedity Code as well as watched several videos by Dr. Jason Fung, a nephrologist. He explains that insulin is the main reason we gain weight. He kind of supports keto, mostly eliminating all sugar, but focuses on intermittent fasting to help control insulin. I learned a lot and it has changed the way (and when!) I eat.

      Thanks Erin! I am definitely seeing a big change since doing this diet. Not necessarily huge weight loss (slow and steady so far) but it makes a difference cutting out carbs and sugar!
