Thanks so much for the book reviews. The Secret Lives of Bees sounds really good. Right now, I am reading White Oleander and it’s pretty good. Love to know where you find your books to read? They all sound really good.

I follow some book review blogs and instagrams. I also look through lists on Goodreads.

Thanks for the new book suggestions, Lisa! I really liked The Secret Life of Bees, and her next one, The Mermaid Chair was pretty good, too. My favorite of hers, however, is The Invention of Wings. I learned so much about the history of Charleston, slavery at the time, and the abolition movement from this historical fiction book about the Grimke sisters, Sarah and Angelina. When we visited my brother & his wife in Charleston 3 years ago, I was tickled when we walked right past their house! I would definitely recommend it. I am currently reading a Thomas Perry book, The Runner, which is a Jane Whitefield story. Have you ever read any of those? They are SO good, and had fallen off my radar for several years. I was very excited to see that I was 3 behind – binge reading session coming up!

Oooh! I will check out her other books! Thanks!
I don’t think I’ve read any Thomas Perry books. The name sounds familiar so I might have them on hold at the library.

The Jane Whitefield books are so good! She’s a Native American woman who specializes in “disappearing” people when they are in life-threatening situations. They’re very tightly written and she is such an interesting and different character, I read them as fast as I plow through the Jack Reacher books. Perry has a some stand-alone books that are very good as well – I can vouch for The Butcher’s Boy and Metzger’s Dog. It’s nice to be able to add to YOUR list for a change!
