Oh my gosh what a great story! It’s hard for me to see beyond irrational fears when I’m living in the moment, too!

I’m glad you enjoyed the story. It’s funny to laugh about it NOW….

Holy moley! I was freaking out when reading this story until I got to the end. I was totally imagining someone hiding up in the hills and picking off unsuspecting bikers. Wow. My friend and I were in a really, really old and out of the way cemetery once and actually did get shot at! She was trying to trace her family tree and thought an old relative could have been buried there. I guess the groundskeeper thought we were vandalizing things and shot at us with a shotgun. Uh…he could have just asked us to leave! Geez!! I’m glad it turned out to just be the heat, but it stinks that Michael broke his arm. What a crazy trip!

I was imagining Deliverance country with someone in the hills shooting at us. It was frightening at the time for sure.

HILARIOUS!! That actually happened to my son’s bike tire last summer. He was riding his bike, and I was walking next to him. All of a sudden we heard a HUGE boom noise, and my immediate thought was “A gun!” But quickly realized it was his tire. I can’t imagine the embarrassment of actually reporting that someone was shooting at us! 😉

Wow, you know how to write a story and keep a person in suspense.

It does get pretty hot in that area, so I can see the tire getting too hot and exploding. I have had a car tire that evidently did that too.

Ha! Thanks, Jeannie, I’m glad you enjoyed it. And the thing about the tire was crazy–but now I know.
