Love this! Recognizing “why” I over ate (or ate the wrong types of food) and setting forth an alternative plan has been a big step in the right direction.

The why is often the hardest part to figure out. And figure out how to change it!

So true. I liked the 2nd quote a lot.

    Have a great weekend, Lisa!

Lisa, I know that’s not you in that photo right? When I first say it I thought, “that’s a Five Guys.” Then I felt sad that I knew that.

Haha no it’s not me and that’s awesome you know it was Five Guys. 😀

    So. True.

Question: how did you keep yourself motivated during times of plateaus during your weightloss? I have been stuck in the low 180’s for two months and it is driving me crazy. I touch down in the upper 170’s every other week, but then my weight goes back up for no reason! I’m now doing cardio plus strength training 5x a week for 90 minutes and just bumped my calories up to 1600-1700 (net) from 1300-1400 (net). I know I will break through eventually, but in the meantime its so hard to not see any changes on the scale.

How did I keep myself motived? I was focused on reaching my goal and failure was not an option. That means I didn’t give up, I didn’t start eating crap food because I was frustrated with the plateaus. I still worked out. I know it doesn’t sound like much but sticking with the plan is what works when there’s no budge on the scale.

My suggestion is to see an RD and have her look at your food diary for a week or two and see where you’re missing something. Really look at your portions and be HONEST with yourself. Are you munching on food while cooking and not tracking the calories or points? That’s going to add up whether we like it or not. Also, see a personal trainer. Maybe it’s time to change the routine.

Thanks for the advice! I know its not my diet because I’ve lost 100 pounds already with my food lifestyle and I track everything. I think it is probably the workouts. I guess its time to fork out some cash for a trainer if things don’t improve soon.

Sometimes the body gets used to what you’re doing, though. The same food, the same workout, etc.
