I woke up Saturday morning and debated in my mind whether or not to run or go to the gym. I decided running on the nearby track would be better than going to the gym and using the treadmill. I drank half an Atkin’s Shake for pre-run breakfast.
QUESTION: What do you think about when running?
Leg 12: is 6.37 miles, classified Moderate, mostly flat, a few rolling hills in the city, start at 7pm.
Leg 24: is 4.92 miles, classified as Easy, flat terrain along the Nehalem River, start at 5:15am.
Leg 36: is 5.23 miles, classified as Moderate, challenging up and steep downhills, winding roads that finish on the beach, start at 2:30pm.
Saturday morning’s run was motivated by nerves. I will admit that I am pretty nervous and anxious about Hood to Coast. I didn’t have any specific goals in mind for yesterday’s run. I just wanted to get in some good mileage.
I felt good during my run. I didn’t have any pain or discomfort. My stomach was a tad uncomfortable from the antibiotics, but I powered through it for about 6 miles without having to walk or stop to rest.
I ran the half mile back to the house and did some stretching and used my Foam Roller.

Then I put some unflavored Chobani Greek yogurt in the bowl and topped it will fresh blueberries. I think I prefer the plain yogurt. It’s not sweet at all (which is much better for me lately) and adding fresh fruit is just enough sweetness.
One suggestion I do have for people taking antibiotics, be sure to eat a LOT of yogurt and take acidophilus to replenish the good bacteria that antibiotics kill off. “Probiotics are live microbial organisms that are naturally present in the digestive tract and vagina. Once ingested, probiotics colonize the intestines and other parts of the body and can sustain themselves unless they are destroyed by antibiotics or other factors.” Besides eating yogurt, I’m also taking acidophilus supplements. Probiotics are so important!
I have to take my antibiotics with food that has substance (bread usually works). For lunch I made ravioli with pesto.
