Mmmm…caramelized onions are the best! My July goals are to maintain my current level of fitness and work on being able to PR at a 1/2marathon in September. Usually after my big race is over for the summer, I get sucked into too many drinks, parties and not keeping to my exercise routine. This summer I’m going to do better. I can fit it all in if I try!

Have you thought about having a few races over the summer so you don’t slip? I think we all do it…summer BBQ’s, nice drinks with umbrellas in it…. 🙂

Some months are better than others in terms of goals, right? If we always met all the goals, then the bar was set too low.

This month I am going to keep working on Operation Sleep, and I think I am going to shoot for 400 miles on the bike for the month. Since we are training for 100 mile ride, that won’t be too hard (I did 362 in June), but I will have to push it some.

Wow! 362 miles biked in June? I did about 85! Man I need to get on it!

My July goals are going up later today. I say it sounds like you did a great job because you adapted for what would work for you and did the best. Success in my book. 🙂

    Have a great 4th weekend!!!!

I think that it is great to set goals to strive for. Sometimes we make the goals and sometimes we don’t. Sometimes we realize we set an unrealistic goal or a situation came up that was out of our control. I think it is important not to feel like we failed. I think as long as we are striving for something we are successful. Having flexibility is important when trying to reach our goals. I think the only thing that would constitute a failure is quitting. Changing, adapting, trying, delaying…. I don’t think these are failures!!!!!

You are totally right. Quitting completely would have been the failure!
