I liked Expecting Better best out of all the pregnancy books and I’m pretty sure I read them all. What did you think of it?

So glad your morning sickness is diminishing. That was the worst part of my entire pregnancy. The second trimester is a pregnancy honeymoon. You’re out of the scariest part and you’re not so huge that you can’t do anything. Enjoy it! 🙂

I liked Expecting Better a lot. Agree, it was the best of the pregnancy books out there. I dislike that all the other books are so fear-mongoring about EVERYTHING. It feels like they are being overly cautious about the littlest things. Expecting Better seemed well-researched and logical and while I didn’t agree with everything in the book, I liked that it gave you all the options and let you make your own conclusions.

Completely agree w/the fear mongering. It’s absurd. I certainly wasn’t going to give up my one cup of coffee habit a day. I needed it to deal with the pregnancy fatigue at work.

Exactly! What I found interesting were the studies from other countries (like France and Sweden) that were much more lax about the “rules” around pregnancy and there was no evidence that there was an increase in birth defects or miscarriage for a lot of the stuff women are told not to do in the US.

The US is really weird (and AWFUL) in a lot of ways when it comes to everything surrounding children. Maternity leave is a good example of the stupidity.

Oh yes!!! I have to agree 100%

I was obsessed with Peanut butter and grape juice while pregnant. It’s the only thing that could ward off the nausea and fatigue.

I am obsessed with orange juice lately!
