I read that too! It was on the Lucky Day display when I dropped by the library recently – but it was an earlier edition that was published before the election. I’m glad to hear she added a foreword that touches on current events – I might find a new copy and flip through the beginning so I get her thoughts.

The book was great and really brought up a lot of things for me to think about. I’ve been examining my attitudes and unacknowledged biases for a while now (mostly around race and class) and this added a whole layer of things to consider.

That’s great that the book gave you other things to think about and consider. I felt the same after reading it.

Whoa. I will admit that I didn’t read too much of your post because I don’t like to know too much about a book. This one has been on my list, though, and I’ve been told the audiobook is exceptional. By reading a bit here and getting a glimpse, I think I’ll move it up the list!

Thanks for this tip! I know I will relate to it. Sometimes it is hard putting our thoughts into words so I really do appreciate a well written book!

I need to read this book – I could have written so much of that myself!

That’s how I felt, too! So many of her stories I could have told in a similar way.
