I’m a pear shape. I have always hated my hips and thighs no matter what weight I was at. I’ve gotten better over the last few years at being nice to myself where they are concerned, but when it comes to “fat talk” (which doesn’t happen nearly as often as it used to) that’s where the darts head. I haven’t been running in a few months (not a fan of running in the snow) so I can see a change in my lower body for sure, but the 30 Day Shred is helping to keep me on track until Mr Sun comes back out again. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year, Maria! Did you notice your legs are smaller with no running?

I am SO an hourglass! Though as the years go by, I seem to be becoming more of a square – my waist is filling out :p

After 2 months of holidays, I think I’d be thrilled to just gain 1.7 pounds!! But of course, I also know that once you add 1 pound, then another, then another…and all of a sudden you’re staring down 10 pounds.

    Love your blog!

      Thanks Ellie!
My goal was to not gain during the holidays. Only gaining 1.7 is not the end of the world. At least it wasn’t 5-10 like I feared!

I have braved the scale lately, but I’ve had too many chips this looong weekend and not enough water. Have you been focusing on your water consumption? Maybe you can “flush” out some of that gain. But really, 1.7 lbs doesn’t seem lik much over the holiday “eating” season.

I think I have an hourglass figure. I am 5’1″ and curvy!

No I have not been drinking enough water and that’s probably part of it! You are so right.

  4. Carbzilla

I think that’s not a big gain in the whole scheme of things. Think how much worse it could have been with no exercise and no eating plan(ish).

I’m an hourglass. I think I have been since about 10th grade. 🙂

I personally think an inch off the hips is a big deal! Good for you!

    1. Lisa Eirene

Thanks Tiff! Yes I agree the gain isn’t something to fret over. In fact it could be too much salt intake over the last few days and not enough water (I am never drinking as much water as I should).

Lisa you did great! Only a pound + up from November! I need to do the same, but to be honest I chickened out this morning. Great job!

You have no idea how much I was dreading the scale (and avoiding) all weekend…

I think I’m a pear. I really love that you do measurements. I should start doing that, too!

    1. Lisa Eirene

I really wish I had measured myself when I was 250! That would have been super motivating!
