Adding healthy fats really helps you feel full!

I used to frequently eat something after dinner until I started having some really nice herbal teas in the evening. It’s been my ritual for years, and I don’t miss the after dinner snack.

I can see tea curbing the nighttime cravings. I should try that.

I think these are some great tips! I know the feeling about going to the gym after I come home, it’s so hard to find that motivation sometimes. But like you said, just changing clothes right away sort of makes me mentally prepared and I know that it’s happening!

Mentally preparing sometimes does the trick (for a lot of things)!

Great tips for sure. For motivation, I had to constantly look in the mirror. Every time I did not feel like being bothered with what I needed to do I would walk over to my full length mirror and take a look. On bad days I had to do this several times a day. It was so important to me to keep the WHY constantly in front of me. In my case, what I saw looking back at me in the mirror may have been hard to look at but it gave me all the motivation I needed.
    Thanks!

Having a good motivating reason makes a world of difference. I know it was EASIER for me to find the motivation to lose weight and stay on track when I was obese. Now that I’m maintaining it’s harder to find the motivation when I want to lose a few pounds…

Love all your tips! For me, since I take insulin every time I eat, my meals are around 500 calories each – so I really am not looking for a snack in between, because I am satisfied.

I used to work with a woman who every time she went on a “diet” she would bring in canned tuna (in oil mind you!) and put it on Ritz crackers. Huh? Meanwhile I’d heat up a giant chicken stir fry with 3 cups of veggies and tell her that my meal had less calories, and obviously more nutrition! – than hers!

Restriction never works!! But choosing healthier options and eating smaller portions does.
