Whoa – ice cream and a KA mixer for being sick? I love Michael πŸ™‚

I too was upset Fabio left. I am cheering for Blais since he’s a hometown boy, but Fabio….I would eat anything he cooked for me as long as he talked πŸ˜‰

I know!! I was so bummed about Fabio… πŸ™ He’s my favorite. I want Richard to win the whole thing because his recipes are so creative. I think he should have won that fondue quick challenge, too. The frozen fondue? Brilliant!

Aw, hope you feel better soon! I still have my stand mixer that I got in 1990 – before my daughter was born! I have the grinder attachment so I can grind my own meat for burgers – I would love to get a pasta attachment though!

    1. Lisa Eirene

We want the meat grinder and the pasta maker attachment too.

I was SO mad about Fabio too!!! That is funny–my fiance and I watched it last night too–“catching up” as well!

My Kitchen aid is my new best friend, I just made homemade marshmallows with it–AWESOME!!

I love my pasta attachments, and hope to one day get the sausage making / meat grinding attachment to make my own ground meats.

I hope you feel better –I am glad to know that I am not the only one who craves comfort food when sick.

I’ll still watch Top Chef because I love the show but I think letting Fabio go was a mistake. He has so much personality that alone should keep him there!

We want the sausage attachment and pasta attachment. I would love to make my own pasta!

    Hope you are feeling better!

We love our kitchenaid mixer. It is affectionately named the tool of the devil around here because it is easy to get into trouble with it LOL. In fact, John is using it tonight to make his cookie bars.

May I suggest my honey fluff recipe? http://findingradiance.com/2010/09/07/honey-fluff-recipe/

Michael has already named our mixer: Red Rocket. πŸ˜‰

Thanks for sending me the link for that recipe! It looks amazing.

Sorry that you’ve felt so sick the last few days-definitely a downer and hopefully you’ll feel better so you can enjoy the weekend. I look forward to the day I get my Kitchenaid Mixer! They’re beautiful!

I love the red too. I’m glad he got one and I can’t wait to feel better so we can try it.

I wish I had a mixer and advice to give you but alas, I have neither πŸ™

    Feel better girlie!!

    1. Lisa Eirene

Thanks Jennifer! I’m feeling a lot better today (and actually worked out).

I have the same mixer (in red), but no attachments. For the most part, I find that the attachments are prohibitively expensive and unnecessary for what I do in the kitchen. I use my mixer frequently for baking — it encourages me to bake when I might otherwise spend money on over-sweetened/over-fatted commercially produced baked things. I used to think I wanted the pasta attachment, but a hand-crank pasta machine is way cheaper and just as effective.

I don’t know if you ever read Mark Bittman’s ‘Minimalist’ columns (sadly now ended after 13 years!), but he posted a recent recipe for very simple with no need for a pasta machine.

Actually, your quest for eating less-processed food and cooking more fits perfectly with Bittman’s angle. He is wonderful. πŸ™‚

Hm… seems to have eaten my link. Point is, here’s the recipe for hand-made pasta: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/12/dining/12mini.html?_r=1

      I’ll check out that link.

Do you ever make pizza dough in the mixer?
