Suzanne! I love that you have to have attitude to do weights, no more nice girl really made me grin.

    Excellent advice as always.

I love Suzanne’s attitude too! She’s totally bad ass and something to aspire to. 🙂

Awesome! I love the starter workout. Definitely clear and easy to understand. More importantly it feels like something I can tackle without getting overwhelmed.

    Good stuff!

What a great introduction to lifting!

And the psychological benefits–feelings of confidence and personal power–are equal to the physical ones.

I agree Mary, the psychological improvements I saw with lifting were fantastic!

Personally I don’t think it’s necessary, but every girl should understand and be familiar with their bodies first, and how it differs with the males.

This way, they can really control the phase of their strength training, and maintain a healthier body.

This is great. I am not savvy on weight lifting, but as I get older I realize it’s something I need to figure out.

Great post! There are a lot of good reasons to be doing weight training, so if you are thinking about it, do it haha!

It took me almost a whole year to convince my wife to start weight training. Now she loves it.

I loved the part about not being a ‘nice girl” anymore. It was probably pun intended but very true. If you go to a gym, you would be welcomed by the quotes like “unleash the beast in you”,”pain is the only temporary, class is permanent”. You get tempted to go a little “bad”.
